Peyman Elahi, in art Peyman Fael, is a young Afghan rapper from Bamiyan. Peyman discovered rap through counterfeit CDs bought off the street markets at the outskirts of Tehran, where he has lived with his family throughout his childhood. Through taking part in illegal rap battles and through the work of artists of the Persian rap scene, such as Hitchkas and Reza Pishro, he came to familiarise with the poetry of language which then became his chosen medium to tell stories. Peyman has lived in Athens for several years where he has started writing his own songs and performed in several concerts, also as support act to great Greek rappers such as Vivilos and MC Yinka. He has collaborated with Italian music producer Giacomo Carlone, aka madetomeasure (Il triangolo, Egokid, Flamingo, Belize), also composer of the soundtrack of A YOUTH, a documentary film following Peyman and his friends during their time in Athens. Peyman raps both in Farsi and Dari, a variety of the Persian language in Afghanistan, and his songs speak about his generation story of migration and the struggle to bring back peace to Afghanistan.
